We are pleased to announce that Fadil Berisha, a well-known photographer, has joined the GERMIN Board of Directors.

Berisha joins the GERMIN professional board to contribute to the Albanian diaspora and his country of origin.

Fadil Berisha was born in Kosovo but at an early age, he emigrated to Italy and then to America. Despite spending his entire life on the American continent, the connection with the Albanians has never faded. On the contrary, it remains the primary address for many Albanians who emigrate to America. Through his art, Berisha tries to present Albanians from another angle – demonstrating that Albanians have a rich tradition, culture, and history.

Berisha has passed down this love of his homeland from generation to generation. In the interviews given to the Albanian media, Berisha always mentions that his parents are one of the reasons that he has never stopped contributing to his country of origin.

“I always remember my mother with tears in her eyes, I remember the desire to see these places and people for whom my parents had so much longing and love”, said Berisha in an interview given to Telegrafi.com in April of the year 2019.

But Berisha is not only known to the Albanian community. He began his professional career by photographing famous women, such as Denise Richards, the ex-wife of actor Charlie Sheen. After her, Berisha photographed world-famous personalities such as Donald Trump, Russell Simmons, Bill Clinton, Halle Berry, Snoop Dogg, Roger Federer, Fergie, Patti LaBelle, Harry Belafonte, Jennifer Beals, Beverly Johnson, Robert Evans, Kim Kardashian, Tyra Banks, and others.

GERMIN’s Board of Directors has always played an active role in our organization’s decisions and mission. As a result, the GERMIN team is happy that a well-known personality like Berisha will now contribute to our permanent mission, connecting the Albanian diaspora with their homeland.

GERMIN is a non-governmental organization that uses technology and virtual channels to connect and engage the Diaspora in advancing the development and democratization of their countries. GERMIN began in 2011 as an informal group seeking a way to connect with the homeland and was officially established in 2014. GERMIN currently operates from offices in Prishtina and Tirana.
