The city of Rahovec is known for its developed agriculture and especially for its famous vineyards. In the southeastern part of the city is the family wine cellar “Kosova Wine”, which was established in 2011.

According to Fatmir Shehu, the owner of Kosova Wine, the vines on that side have been cultivated in the area for 200 years. He also shows that the Kosova Wine facility is built in that place and he also mentions that wine has been produced in that region since ancient times. One of the most beautiful landscapes of the city of Rahovec can be seen from there.

In 2015, Kosova Wine started collecting grapes, and at the beginning of 2016, Kosova Wine entered the market with a full range of products. Production started with a capacity of 300,000 litres of alcoholic beverages and with the increase in demand, new brands were added and the capacity increased up to 1.5 million litres per year. Kosova Wine counts 12 employees, who work with great dedication in the production of a total of 16 types of wine and a very special product – brandy (rakia) with 24-carat edible gold pieces.

Kosova Wine owns the facility with an area of 2150m2, divided into four floors, where each floor is designed to serve neatly for specific purposes. Kosova Wine Company is equipped with the latest technology to produce wine and brandy in accordance with European standards, including the selection and processing of grapes.

Thanks to the ideal agro-ecological conditions, the best technology, as well as the professional staff, Kosova Wine has its own vineyards with grape varieties such as: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah (from the red varieties), and collects from farmers varieties such as: Chardonnay, Rhine Riesling, Italian Riesling, Vranç, Game e Rëndomtë and Smederevo, which make possible the production of alcoholic beverages: Rraki Rushi “Grejza e Artë”, always taking into account the tendency to increase the palette with other products.

It didn’t take Kosova Wine long to introduce their premium wine to developed countries, starting with Switzerland and continuing with Italy, Germany, Norway, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, the USA and Albania.

“The company plans to further increase production capacity since the raw material, i.e. grapes, they have in large amounts and help the vineyard farmers by collecting their grapes”, says the owner of the company, Fatmir Shehu.

The property also has a convenient event space and a separate log cabin available for vacation rentals.
