ITP Prizren meets the Diaspora in Frankfurt, Germany

On September 9, 2021, the Innovation and Training Park (ITP) Prizren was presented to the diaspora business community and professionals of the German State of Hesse, in Frankfurt.

This meeting gathered about 25 entrepreneurs and businessmen from various fields, who with great interest attended the presentation of the ITP Prizren, as a new opportunity for investment and business in Kosovo.

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Rozeta Hajdari attended this event. In her greeting speech, she thanked the diaspora for its great contribution for Kosovo and willingness to be close to it. She invited all business representatives present at the hall to seriously consider investment opportunities in Kosovo, with an emphasis on ITP Prizren, as a place that meets the needs of and requirements.

Present in this meeting was the newly appointed Managing Director of ITP, Mr. Hans-Juergen Cassens. He said that he is happy that he is starting a job in the management of ITP, which aims to support Kosovo’s development goals.

Mr. Nazmi Viqa, head of the Albanian-German Businesses Union (UB), in his speech said that he feels good when such business opportunities as ITP are presented from Kosovo in Germany. He added that for diaspora businesses in Germany this park is of high interest also because the German army stayed there and there was a German investment with high standards, which is being followed up with GIZ and Kosovo Government, now in a new mission. Therefore, he and the union he leads will be promoters of the opportunities offered by ITP among diaspora as well as German investors.

Consular Gezim Gashi from the Kosovo’s General Consulate in Frankfurt welcomed this meeting, adding that the Consulate beyond the services it provides, will increase the activity for the promotion of investment opportunities in Kosovo, which undoubtedly includes ITP.

The meeting was moderated by Lirim Krasniqi, Co-Executive Director of GERMIN, while the detailed presentation of ITP was made by Muhamed Rexhepi, ITP Prizren advisor. The presentation was followed by a question and answer session, which testified to the participants’ interest in ITP.

This activity ended with a cocktail, where participants had the opportunity to network and exchange, as well as get to know more about the ITP Prizren

Germin will continue meetings with the diaspora in the wake of the roadshow to promote ITP as a new business opportunity in Kosovo.

The second edition of the OriginAL program is officially launched
On August 4th, the second edition of the OriginAL program was officially launched. Participants had the opportunity to see the program's insights, its inaugural edition, and its ambitious goals. This event opened with a surprise performance by Arbër Selmani, journalist and poet from Pristina. He moved the audience with a rendition of his poem called "Kur vdiq baba." The co-director of GERMIN, Lirim Krasniqi, spoke about the importance and impact that this program has had and expressed that he is proud to be part of an initiative of historical importance and thanked all the supporters of this project. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, said that she is very proud of last year's result and of the group of the second edition of the OriginAL program. Acting President at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K), Michael Hess, talked about the important connection that the American University in Kosovo has with the diaspora. We also had supporters of the OriginAL program among us. Investor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist from the Diaspora in Bulgaria, Elvin Guri. He talked about how this program helps the youth of the diaspora to understand not only their roots but also their parents and their sacrifices. One of the main pillars of this program is the founder and Chairman of the Board of the Global Albanian Foundation (GAF), Mark Kosmo. Unable to come from Boston, USA, through a video message, he once again expressed his support and told the participants that he really looks forward to starting this journey. From Paris, we also had GERMIN's co-chair of the board, Anila Smørgrav, who greeted and thanked the participants, supporters, and partners of OriginAL. At the event, seven esteemed alumni of the OriginAL program graced the gathering. Among them, Diellza and Elsa Vejseli, who once participated and now volunteered for the second edition, took the stage to recount their enriching experiences, the enduring friendships forged, and offered valuable insights into the program's overarching objectives and impact.
