Last Saturday, a meeting with businesses and professionals from the diaspora was held in Düsseldorf, Germany, where the Innovation and Training Park (ITP) – Prizren was presented as a new investment opportunity in Kosovo. The event brought together a variety of business profiles from the diaspora, including those in the fields of Technology, Food Processing, and Creative-Cultural Industries.
The event began with a speech from Mr. Arjan Kashatnjeva, the General Consul, who expressed his pleasure in welcoming such an important event, especially after a long period of isolation due to the pandemic. He wished that events like this would become more frequent in the future, leading to concrete investments in Kosovo.
Wolfgang Leidig, the Managing Director of the Park, while presenting to the diaspora community, emphasized that ITP Prizren, in addition to its highly suitable infrastructure, offers a networking and inter-sectoral collaboration environment, with a focus on the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Food Processing, and Creative-Cultural Industries sectors. ITP is much more than a classic business park.
The multifunctional park officially opened its doors to tenants in May 2020, and is now also open to national and international businesses interested in joining. ITP aims to attract diaspora involvement in the private sector, educational and professional training institutions, as well as research and innovative activities. Beyond its rich real estate offerings, the park provides business services and a secure and sustainable investment environment, with German management overseeing tenant needs.
Leidig presented the vision and mission of ITP, which aims to become a regional hub in the Balkans for innovation, business and skills development, and a source of successful and innovative ideas. ITP Prizren spans 40 hectares with 53 buildings ready for interested businesses.
Also addressing the attendees was Mr. Bekim Bytyqi, the Managing Director of the Albanian-German Business Union (UB), who expressed the members’ willingness to invest in Kosovo, specifically in ITP. He also emphasized that Union members are interested in receiving more detailed information relevant to their specific businesses.
The primary goal of ITP is to support Kosovo in its economic development and integration, with particular attention given to the engagement and inclusion of the diaspora.
After the meeting, Mr. Leidig and his team visited ‘Kelmendi GmbH,’ one of the member companies of the Albanian-German Business Union (UB), operating in the field of food processing and sales.
This event was the first in a series of meetings that will take place in the diaspora (mainly in German-speaking countries) to present ITP Prizren.
