Position: Social Media and Public Relations Officer

Background: GERMIN is a non-governmental organization whose core principles and ideals are based on the belief that the Albanian Diaspora must play an extensive and proactive role in the positive development of all countries in the Balkans where Albanians live.

Social Media and Public Relations Officer’s responsibilities and duties: He/She will be working directly in the following activities throughout his/her tenure at GERMIN:

  1. Content Creation and Curation: Develop and curate engaging and relevant content that resonates with the target audience.
  2. Create Content Calendar Monthly
  3. Social Media Platform Management: Maintain and optimize social media profiles on various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) to ensure a consistent brand image.
  4. Posting and Scheduling: Create and schedule posts to maintain a consistent online presence and reach the audience at optimal times.
  5. Engagement and Interaction: Interact with followers, respond to comments, messages, and mentions, and foster community engagement.
  6. Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and analyze social media metrics to track performance and make data-driven decisions.
  7. Campaign Planning and Execution: Social media campaigns, including promotions and contests
  8. Paid Advertising: Manage paid advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, targeting, and performance analysis.
  9. Web Content Creation: Develop and create high-quality, relevant, and engaging content for the website, including articles, blog posts, and multimedia content
  10. Newsletter Content Planning: Develop a strategic content plan for newsletters, aligning topics and themes with the organization’s goals and audience interests monthly
  11. Develop, write and edit communications materials, including press releases, blog posts, invitations, and social media content;
  12. Create, coordinate, and execute communication plans to increase public awareness.
  13. Have basic knowledge regarding fundraising campaigns;
  14. Have basic knowledge of e-commerce.
  15. Creating creative content for Global Albanians Foundation (GAF) regarding its fundraising campaigns;
  16. Contributes to the continuous measurement, evaluation and impact of organization’s Public Relations (PR) and social media activity;
  17. Performs all other related duties as required.

For these portions of work, the employee will report to the Germin co-Executive Directors and the chair of the Global Albanians Foundation (GAF).

Job Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or related areas;
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills in both English and Albanian;
  • 1+ years prior experience in a communications role;
  • Advanced computer skills (Google Work Package and Microsoft Office);
  • Understand the best practices and develop social media campaigns for the purposes of the organization’s goals and objectives;
  • Team-worker, communicative and with strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines;

Job Prerequisites Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field (Master's is a plus).Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and Albanian.5+ years of experience in communications.2+ years of experience in communications roles within Civil Society organizations.Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.Ability to develop and implement effective social media campaigns aligned with organizational objectives.Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, and Illustrator is an advantage.
