In April 2022, GERMIN signed a contractual agreement with the Western Balkans Fund as one of 30 awarded organizations from the Western Balkans 6, part of the fourth call for grants co-funded by the European Union through IPA – Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance.

GERMIN, through this partnership, implemented the project “Enhancing Regional Cooperation of Young Researchers on Migration & Development.” The project’s overall objective was to enhance regional cooperation by providing access to migration think tanks’ research infrastructures for young researchers who can get access to data and mentorship from GERMIN and partner organizations from North Macedonia and Montenegro.

This cooperation culminated with the Pristina Regional Conference on Migration and Development: “Enhancing Western Balkans’ Youth Regional Mobility” held on November 25th, 2022. The aim of this conference was the publication of research that six fellows of the first generation have carried out in the framework of the program.

Six first-generation fellows from Kosovo, Montenegro, and North Macedonia participated in an exchange program at partner organizations located outside of their home countries. During the program, they conducted research projects on various migration and development-related topics. The conference marked the publication of their findings.
